Each year San Diego Style Weddings magazine asks a bunch of us planners to put together our own tabletop for a photo shoot. The idea is to let each planner dream up their own look and feature current wedding trends in the process. By request, I was paired with Chris and Kim from Indulge Flowers as I adore them and do a number of weddings a year with them. I wanted to use pastel pinks, yellows, and greens and create a garden theme with a vintage nod. My goal was for all the colors to be subtle without any harsh contrasts. I loved the result! Notice how Chris did that perfectly with the bouquet–the colors are so subtle and blend perfectly together.
Nicole of Nic Roc Designs did all the paper products and she was amazing, as always. Check out the cute banner, the menus, and place cards. Love them all! Erin Hall of Hall-Vintage supplied our flatware, glassware, napkins, and benches. La Tavola supplied the gorgeous green linen. I brought the paper striped straws and tied on the ribbons and filled the mason jars with yellow lemonade!
When I put a table together–for a photo shoot or for a client–my goal is always a mixture of simplicity and well placed details. I like one gorgeous floor length linen (rather than underlays and overlays–too messy), flowers that are specific in their selection, and paper products that carry our theme or motif perfectly. Add to that a charger or china, a linen napkin (as my friend Bradley of Fun With Jack says, “no one likes to wipe their face with something shiny!”), flatware, and glassware, and you’ve got yourself a table! A recent trend is to mix up the china, flatware, and glassware to create an ordered look with variety. I love it! Notice our green wine glasses and the mason jars for our “specialty drink” (also in our color palette of course!). The photo shoot took place at the Hilton Torrey Pines, a hotel I really like, and the green grass and classic urns were a gorgeous backdrop to this tablescape.
This photo shoot is currently featured in San Diego Style Weddings Magazine. We’ll create another tablescape this summer so stay tuned for more pictures and new trends!
